Mixed day at Northern(27-01-01)
In what turned out to be a day of mixed emotions at a high quality North
of English champs LPS came so close in a number of events without
winning a single one. The ever consistent Kiera Vogel was 5th in the
under 15 girls event in which the team won bronze medals. Our County
winning under 17 ladies came 7th. The under 13 boys came 6th. The under
15boys had glory taken away by one point by our friends at Liverpool
Harriers Michael Rimmer was 4th, silver medals still a just reward for
this hard working group. The under 17 men believed they had won the
bronze medals only to have them taken away after a recording error,
still a good performance by this talented under 17 team. Jon Rice was
8th in the under 20 race. Our senior men came 15 with Alan Woods making
his first winter appearance in 43rd spot. Ritchie Webster again closed
the team in after picking up his first County team medal ealier in the

Liverpool & District Retained (13-0101)
After what has been one of the most frustrating cross country seasons in
a long while LPs senior men won the Liverpool & District title in
fine style despite a strong challenge from Liverpool Harriers. Bernie
Murphy lead the team home in 3rd place followed by last years winner Jim
Boardman, Jon Rice, Brain Currie, Sammy Rashid and Greg Callaghan. A
splendid turn out of athletes and supporter on a lovely January
afternoon all but made up for a disappointing season. Results |
