Another local victory for Paul
(12-5-02) Paul Cadwallader continued
his preparation for the Man v Horse with another local road race, this
time it was the Liverpool Running Club 10k at Walton Hall Park. The warm
spring morning brought out the on the day entries and a large field set
off on this new course which Steve Broadfoot thought had the making of
fast times. As with many local events the problem of finding a safe
traffic free course which can cater for 300 plus runner is difficult and
we had a problem of lapping which seems to effect so many of our local
events. A break away group of Paul, Tom Snape, Peter Green and Paul
Snakey found them selves caught up in the tail enders before halfway. In
the end Paul run out winner from Peter Green thus reversing the
finishing places in last months Mayor of Knowsley event. Paul Sankey
from the host club was 3rd and Tom Snape came home 4th Results |
Paul
Cadwallader wins 15k again(5-5-02) Running on
one of his favourite course Paul Cadwallader was a comfortable winner in
this popular event. Paul who seems to be running in all the local events
at present was a comfortable winner from Tony O'Brian of Morpeth. Joey
Parkinson was 6th and Jeff Mason 15th. Results |
A Team 3rd withPhil Taylor and Gary Baines were rock solid and placed in the top three in every sprint . However the 4OOM WAS A DIFFERENT STORY . Jamieson coming upto to thirty and Halliday past thirty were not on song. The middle distance was again a simliar story a mixture of youth watson and stewart mixed with age and beauty Vengdslam . The boys went well and placed mid table. The steeplechase was run by the pups Rice and Donoghue who again placed third and third i think but are going to get stronger Rice is the oldest and has just turned 21 The 5000m caused a problem Pudneys car broke down and Vengdslam (its close enough nathan) had a poorly heel (these 40 somethings). So WE HAD NO ONE IN THE 5OOOM THE THROWS every team needs a pillar , a greying or balding old dog who just wont sit down LPS are luckier than most WEVE GOT 2 Bousfield AND line as ever were oustanding placing in the top three A AND B in every throwing event A miracle when you think Merrik had a smashed in finger and Mark had to do another three events !!!!!!! THE pole vault again a serious problem i hope the committee members mark this well. .... We had no vaulters not even any juniors to call upon !!!! This needs addressing the club has only had vaulters in the past due to MCCOMB SENIOR. So we dropped a load more points with no vaulters garland and rodgers i wont your old frail bodies even if its just to vault . Anyone reading this please contact these 2 and put some pressure on them once you sign up you never get out !!!!!! The jumps is a similar picture a mixture of youth Ian Milson a fantastic debut with Line and Barrow. This again is a slightly worrying event. Hurdles with Barrow and Rudkin we scored high. Barrow won the 400m hurdles AKABUSI OR WHAT. On to the relays, we always do ok at these and the points were good were finished comfortably in both in 3 rd spot . well done to baines a debut at the 4 x 400m EVEN WITH NO VAULTERS OR 5000M THE TEAM FINISHED THIRD BEHIND LINCOLN AND DERBY |
