Myerscough Merseyside County AA Cross Country Championships

Many thanks to Myesrscough College, Croxteth Park and Glendales without whose help and contribution these championships would not have taken place and been such a success.

Gill Laihtwaite winner of the senior women's and in doing so retained the title she won last year. She is pictured  with Croxteth Park's Events Manager Neil Bascombe. LPS  showed strength in depth in the under 15 boys age group by winning two different County Titles on the same afternoon  with two different teams. The above quartet are the 2007 Merseyside Champions. SWAVC enjoyed a good day at Croxteth park picking up a number of title, here their senior ladies celebrate a one point win over Liverpool Harriers
   
The new course at Croxteth Park proved popular and was a trial for the World Firefighters Championships in 2008 which will be held over this new course A stalwart of Merseyside and national athletics for many years Steve James of SWAC turns in yet another commendable performance
   
Rhea Ellis of SWAC runs away from the field in the U/17 Women's event Rob Berry turns the screw but not tight enough to shake off the winner Phil McGlory with M Carr and John McCole also chasing hard
   
Leo Carroll Chairman of Merseyside County AA, Helen Eaton of Myerscough College and Event referee George Jones Harry Boyed was another SWAC athlete to enjoy the course at Croxteth Park as he made light of the conditions to win the U/17 Men's Championship
