Kirsty Longley and Lisa Gawthorne keep the flag flying for Liverpool Pembroke and Sefton`s distance runners. Over 1300 runners lined up for the City of Salford 10K Road Race but Kirsty had no qualms and her forceful style carried her to victory in a near personal best time of 36.59. She was 27th overall. Meanwhile team mate Lisa Gawthorne, 9th overall, was demolishing the female 5K field to also collect a memorable win in 20.33 These girls are leading the way to what one hopes will be a fine winter season for the club.
