Rules for Competition
1 Only first claim members may compete in the championships. All entries for the championships must made in advance.
2  Second claim member may score in league fixtures. (Subject to their first claim club not being a member of the Union)
3 In league fixture the first six eligible runners either male or female or a combination of both home will score for a club. A club may still complete a team with a minimum of four athletes. In such cases scoring will be last athlete to finish in the fixture  plus one place if you have only five runner. Only four runners closing will result in last two athletes home plus two  places. (***See example below)
3a (2002 AGM) No club may win the Division 1 title if they fail to finish a full 6 counters in all three league fixtures.
4 The league will have two divisions of six clubs in division one and thirteen clubs in division two. Both divisions will race in a combined race at the same venue at the same time.
5 The winners of each division will be the club with the lowest combined score from all three fixtures.
6 At the completion of the season the top two clubs from divisions two will be promoted to division one for the coming season.
7 At the completion of the league season the bottom two clubs in divisions one will be relegated to division two for the coming season.
8 Guest may run in league fixtures after first obtaining the referee's permission on the day of the event.
No guest shall be allowed to run in the championships.

*** Example
If a fixture has 200 finisher
Any club with only 5 athletes completing the event can then claim the last person home plus 1 place. That would add a penalty score of 201 to their team total in that fixture.
If a club has only 4 athletes finishing the you add your 5th athlete as above then add your 6th athlete as last place plus 2. That would add 201 (for your missing 5th counter) plus 202 (for your missing 6th counter) so a penalty of 403 points would be added for that fixture.
