Liverpool Pembroke Sefton have a proud tradition in competing in track & field, producing many great athletes and performances over the years, along with some great achievements at all levels.
We train and compete in all the main Track & Field disciplines including: Middle Distance, Sprints, Hurdles, Discus, Hammer, Javelin, Shot, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault & Combined Events. We have a fantastic group of dedicated and passionate coaches who help on all group sessions as well as specialist event squad sessions for those athletes with identified talent and aptitude.
Training sessions take place weekly, each Tuesday & Thursday from 6:30pm, year round at the Edge Hill University sports facilities in Ormskirk, and during the winter there are training sessions both indoors (conditioning) and outdoors.
We compete in a wide range of competitions, for juniors and seniors, including Mid-Lancs League and Northern Athletics League. In 2020 we aim to host a fixture from the Northern Athletics League.

Competition Opportunities
The Club pays for entry to four Track & Field Leagues each year, covering different abilities and Age Groups. These are:
Mid Lancs T & F League
This local league provides an opportunity for competition for all ages except Under 11’s. This is not a selected league, but numbers wishing to compete for the club have grown considerably. As a result competition opportunities in certain events and age groups have to be rationed to ensure fairness. The League insists, rightly, that in order to compete, you have to be a fully paid up member of LPS and therefore have an England Athletics affiliation number. You should always be prepared to take your EA card to all of the fixtures if you are competing.
Northern Athletics Senior League
This league is for Seniors, although U17’s and Juniors (U20’s) are also eligible. Participation is by selection by the men’s and women’s team managers, based on age and performance.
Currently Liverpool Pembroke Sefton compete in the following divisions:
Track & Field FIXTURES 2020
In Addition there are Open Meetings available, and, for those aged 11 and over, County and Regional Championship meetings which you must enter (and pay for) as an individual, normally using forms available online or from your coaches.
