Kirsty among the best

The Southport Waterloo Open Meeting also had some great track results. Pride of place goes to Kirsty Longlley who tackled the rarely run 1 mile race. A virtually solo effort saw her record 5.11.8 which carries her to second in the current UK Women`s Over 35 rankings and no less than fourth on the all time list. Kirsty has her eye on collecting an England vest in the O35s shortly. Also at Litherland Aimee Hall ran a sparkling 13.1 100m just frustratingly short of breaking the 13 second barrier. It will come. Tucked away in the results another highly promising youngster emerged. Under 11 Lauren Lewis ran a stunning 10.9 for 75m and was just as sharp over 200m with 21.8. A bonanza day all round for the club and a marvellous way to finish the season.
