Kevin Gilligan was a famous Pembroke 5K track runner in the 50`s. He won the International University`s 5K title in 1957(about 14.30). He still ranks high in club records with a 14.10 posting. He later emigrated to Canada and the USA.
Apparently he was seen at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and was reminiscing about his Pembroke years.
