With illness and several athletes missing and opting for local road races, the senior men’s team finished a disappointing 85th  place  out of the 107 teams competing in the Manchester sunshine, Super Vet Sammy Rashid was the fastest LPS runner on the day with Jonathan Bride (19.53), Sean Kirkbride (20.00), Danny Gilbody (21.44), Robbie Wood (22.13) and Andrew Conway (23.27) all running .

Natterjack 10K  Southport 26th Sept.
It was a day of 1st’s for several LPS athletes in the windy conditions on the Southport seafront. James Lotus just missed out on 1st place by 10 seconds with his 34 minutes 40 secs whilst Kirsty Longley finished in 7th overall and took the 0/40 race. Helen Saghal was 1st home in the open ladies race with a 38 min 44 clocking.
John Halson showed good form winning the 0/55 men’s race in 38 minutes 07 and was followed by Greg Callaghan in 38 minutes 46 winning the 0/50 race.

Richard Weeks made a welcome return to racing and finished in 5th place with a 37 minute clocking.
Final Fling- Wrexham 25th Sept.
Up and coming LPS thrower Jenny Pyatt finished off her year with a surge up the Senior Womens Discus rankings. Although still an under 20, Jenny continued on her upwards curve as she smashed the meeting record at Wrexham with an impressive 43 metres 22 throw to put her in the top 30 in the country.
