At the club’s AGM it was decided to look for more volunteers to help in the running of the club.
1. Press Officer – someone who was prepared to write reports on the club’s activities throughout the year. This would involve cross country races, road relays & track & field events. The reports would need to be of a standard that could be used on the club website and by the local press.
2. Committee members – we are looking to recruit new members to the club committee, especially among younger club members and parents to give them a bigger say in the running of the club. Committee meetings are held every two months.
3. Additional coaches – currently the club has a waiting list for younger members of over 50. The only way this can be reduced is by recruiting additional coaches. So if there are any parents who feel they could support our current coaches in any way then it would be much appreciated. The club is happy to send interested parents on a course in order to get a coaching qualification. These are held regularly throughout the north west.
4. Additional Officials – the club currently competes in two leagues in order to provide competition for the various age groups. For matches to take place the club needs to provide SIX officials at each match. At present too much pressure is being put on a limited number of officials. There is a one day course planned in the new year for anyone who is interested. The more officials we have will enable us to spread the load more evenly.
