On the 25th of September 14 LPS members travelled over to Whitworth, Lancashire for the ‘Ron Hill 80th Birthday Celebration race’. Ron Hill who is very well known and admired throughout the running world was on hand to act as both starter and prize giver.
Mark Wynne was 2nd and Chris Maher 4th and with Adam Jones 12th is was great to have 3 LPS in the top 12 of such a prestigious event.
A fantastic team bonding exercise and some good performances around the scenic reservoir on a course which was a mixture of tarmac and gravel trail.
Well done to everyone who ran and happy birthday to Ron who was a regular supporter and frequent winner of the Pembroke 20 in the 60s and 70s
