Jamie Hopkins represented LPS in the U17 Heptathlon at the U17/U15 English/Northern Indoor Combined Events comp at Sheffield, and earned 3rd place in the Northern competition.
The heptathlon takes two days to complete and consists of 60m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt, 60m Hurdles, Pole Vault & 1000m
Two days of very high standard performances, from 18 athletes, saw a number of records broken including at least three performances break into the top ten of all time.
Jamie’s peak is still to come this summer but we saw PBs in the long jump (5.77m), pole vault (2.46m), 60m (7.93 sec) & a fantastic 1000m (3m 04 sec). Jamie total points tally was 3593, adding another club record to the 60m hurdles club record (8.93) Jamie set in February.
Well done Jamie….roll on the summer season.
