Following a knee injury a last minute decision by Rosie Johnson to run in the English Under 23 Championships at Bedford paid off for the LPS athlete. A tactical 1500m race played into her hands and she was always thereabouts with the leading group. When the action really started the Bracknell runner Amelia Quirke(4.23.12) was quickly away with an unstoppable surge. At 250 metres to go Rosie was fourth but sensing weaknesses immediately in front she closed the gap, at 80m the third girl was passed and at 40m the second wilted. She has been there before in class competition and knows precisely how to time a finish (4.24.63). A silver at national level reminds us again of her talent.
