Chumbawamba and Cabbage

During the Week we had a number of athletes competing in the Harrock Hill race. The event is always popular with LPS, this race was no different with 3 of our athletes challenging for the prized cabbage or other seasonal vegetable.

Jake Dickinson ensured the family had some of their 5 a day by finishing 3rd overall with a time of 35:48.  Greg Callaghan in 27th place finishing in 41:02 and Mark Hudson in 48th overall with a time of 43:34 completed our trio, all of whom finished the evening with a nice savoy and a bag of potatoes as a reward for their efforts.

Andrew Conway completed a 2nd 10k in quick succession with a time of 48:13 in the Penny Lane striders event.

Steve Bolton donned the LPS vest in the Dunham Massey Duathlon, even though he managed to run 300 metres out of the way he still managed a comfortable 1st place.

On Sunday at the very windy Southport 10k, the LPS team put om a great performance. Thomas Harkin finishing in 37.54 came in 5th. Al Grant in 38.13 was just behind in 8th. Andrew Foster, who is looking stronger each week came in 10th place with a time of 38.31.

Ladies road and cross country captain, Joanna Durkin was 2nd lady home in 41.56 (15th place) with Sarah Grant finishing 32nd overall in 44.46
