Race Categories

Each Race is given a category and each category is given a points score based upon importance of the race to the club or quality.

You will receive points based upon your performance in each race based upon your age grade score against the world record for age group. Scores start accumulating at 30.00% (1point and increase each 0.1% with larger increases the better the age grade performance). High Level table below but full list at bottom of page.

Personal Best Times

Based upon information available on Power of 10. Points allocated for achieving a PB with additional points added if the PB is 2 seconds or more faster than previous or if the PB is a higher age grade score.

Once you’ve achieved a PB, if you are within 0.9% of the age grade for your next 2 events (any event 800m upwards) you will be rewarded with additional consistency points.

Event positions

If you or the team win or are placed in a race you will get more points. Places are typically top 3.

Example event 1

Tom is a senior athlete who takes part in the Road Relays. As a result, we have a full team and we finish in 1^st place.

Tom scores 125 points as the road relay is a club priority, 100 points because we had a full team and a further 100 points as the team won. Totalling 325 points for the event.

Example event 2

Sally is an U23 athlete who takes part in the Run Aintree 5k. She runs the event in 19:09 and finishes 1st lady. Her time is a PB by 25 seconds

Sally scores 25 points the pot 2 event, 150 points as she achieved a PB+, 100 points for the win and 323 points for her age graded score of 79.2%. As she achieved her PB and was over 75% of her age grade she received a PB bonus of 140. Totalling 738 points for the event.

Equity

The aim is to reward performance and representation. Those athletes competing at a higher level tend to compete less but will naturally achieve more points, however those athletes who compete more often will achieve more points through attendance and still achieve points per age grade %.
