Colleges and Schools Cross Country races

Wednesday 14 October saw several LPS athletes representing their colleges and schools in cross country races.

Charlotte Mawdsley and Jack Crook both ran in the North West Colleges cross country championships. Charlotte came 4th and Jack 7th. Both will now represent the North West in the National Colleges champs in April next year.

Wednesday was also the first round of the English Schools Cross Country Cup. In the Cup it is the school team which goes through to the next round, not individuals. Four runners score for each team. Four LPS junior athletes represented Tarleton Academy in the Lancashire races held at Tarleton.

Ross Harrison lead the Tarleton Intermediate Boys team to first place with a determined run in 2nd place.   Henry Latimer came home 6th as Tarleton’s 3rd scorer.The team now progress to the Regional final at Bolton in November.

Holly Miller ran a very well paced race in the Intermediate Girls race to come home 5th and 1st scorer for Tarleton. Sprinter Sam Latimer braved the longer distance to finish 16th in the Junior Boys, 3rd scorer for Tarleton.
