Another cascade of medals at the Lancs

After a successful Merseyside Track and Field Championships those members of Liverpool Pembroke Sefton with a red rose qualification headed to Blackpool. At Under 13 level Lauren Lewis confirmed her outstanding talent by streaking clear of the field in the 100m in 13.6 also collecting the Long Jump title with 4.45m. At U15 Morag Molyneux took the 1500m in 5.07.4. High Jumper Jade Murphy was in her usual fine form with an untroubled 1.53m leap.

There was a further victory at U17 with Ed Latimer taking the 400m Hurdles in 62.9 and finishing runner-up in the 400m with 53.2. Jack Crook just missed out on a medal in the 800m with 2.06.1. The star performance at U20 was Amelia McLaughlin`s superb High Jump win with 1.70m which set a new Championship Best Performance. At senior level Charlotte Christian won the Hammer(35.30m) and Dave Brown collected three bronze in the Shot(10.83m), Discus(31.38m) and Hammer(31.44m).

In the Liverpool `Rock and Roll’ Marathon Kirsty Mackenzie was 93rd Female in 3.51.27.
