Good times from Jonathan and Jack

Saturday saw LPS’s Jonathon Bride make an early start to take part in the Ormskirk 5km Park Run at Edge Hill. Going with the pace from the start, Jonathon maintained contact with the leading group and, despite helping a first-time runner take the right direction, managed to come home 2nd in a new pb of 17 minutes 16 seconds.

The “everyone welcome” nature of Park Runs saw Jenny Meadows of Wigan & District Harriers & AC, an 800m Olympian, came home 5th in 17.38.

Other LPS runners in the Park Run were 13th Fraser Jones (20.09), 17th Maxine Thompson (20.39 pb) and 41st Francesca Price (24.02).

On Sunday 16 year old Jack Crook travelled to Manchester for the indoors meeting to tackle his first attempt at 600m. After a fast start Jack settled into his race and battled round the three laps of the indoor circuit to finish 4th in 1.27.14, a good learning experience as Jack prepares for 800m indoors in the New Year.
