Congratulations to LPS athletes Mark Roberts and Sandy Clarkson on their recent participation in the English Schools Track and Field Championships in Manchester. On Friday, Mark competed for Lancashire in the Senior Boys 400m, running 48.91s in the seeding heat and then achieving a PB of 48.40s in the A final (previous PB 48.71s) finishing in bronze medal position.
Also on Friday, Sandy competed for Merseyside in the Senior Boys High Jump finishing 6th overall with a PB of 1.95m (previous PB 1.94m).
Very well done to the both of you. In a year where nothing about the Championships was normal (events spread by age group over three days and no overnight accommodation for the county teams) achieving PBs in your events is to be celebrated.
