Everyone’s a Wynner

The week started with Mark Wynne re-assuming the men’s club captaincy in time for the upcoming road relays on 11th and 25th September.  There’s been some good take up so far which will hopefully lead to an exciting couple of events, especially as Joanna is hoping to bring together a strong ladies team also.

On Tuesday Lisa Gawthorne travelled to Trafford where she achieved a PB in the 3000m of 11:12.  On the same evening Ste Bolton took a second of his 800m best time, achieving 2:18, whilst Adam Jones once again ran the 800m distance in under 2 minutes, which is a decent habit to get into.

Tom Fair continues his strong progression with a 16:58 5k at the Wavertree Mystery event, whilst Andrew Conway achieved a season best time of 21:56. There is no mystery, however, as to the return of Elle Anderson who came in as 2nd lady with a time of 17:49.

After a lengthy comeback, Se Loughlin finished a strong 2nd place in the BMC event at Leeds. His time of 8:45 was marginally outside his 2nd best time.

Not content with smashing her 3000m  PB,  Lisa Gawthorne took on the Capenhurst 5k and took 12 seconds of her previous best finishing in 18:24.  On the same evening Des McIvor finished a credible 21:08.
