Last weekend The Saucony English Cross Country Championships were held at Bolesworth Castle, near Tattenhall, Chester.
The full set of results can be found here where LPS had 3 of the 1473 athletes running, Thomas Harkin, Tom Mattack and Chris Pedder, all of whom completed the gruelling 12k race.
Thomas Harkin was our 1st finisher in 48:06 with Tom Mattack just behind in 48:25. Chris Pedder finalised the LPS contingent under the hour mark in 57:12. Well done to all 3 athletes.

The Maltese Falcon
Mark Hudson, our very own Humphrey Bogart took on the Malta half marathon last weekend. A race he’s run that often there’ll be a trophy named after him soon. It was definitely warmer than the Chester Cross Country, Mark finished 201st out of circa 2000 runners in a really decent 1:36.43. A little bit of LPS nostalgia aligned to the race as Tony O’Brien ran it in 1997, finishing 1st in 1:06.14.
