Rob Stocks on Form in Mid Lancs
Burscough`s Rob Stocks was an impressive second placer at the Mid-Lancs Cross Country League match at Blackpool. With David Wilkie(5), Chris Melling(8) and Sam Glynn(9) this enabled Liverpool Pembroke Sefton to take the Under 17 team race. Michael Rimmer, the LPS 800m track sensation is no lover of cross country  but he finished 3rd in the Under 20 race, again leading the club to a comfortable team win with Steve Doneghan(4) and Dave Phillips(7) in close attendance. Seriously decimated by absences the Under 15 team were expecting very little but Sam Hutchinson was inspired in 5th place and with Andy Bowen 7th and promising newcomer Martin Cooke 14th pulled off a totally unexpected second spot. Matt Lloyd was 15th in the Under 13 race but here again the resilience of  LPS was evident and the team finished third. Adam Clansey was 29th in the Senior Race. Luke Sanders also put in an appearance and is making very satisfactory progress.

Quite a battle between back markers Adam and Jimmy with Adam just having the sprint finish to take the race. However, Jimmy got even by beating Adam to the fastest time. Henry Stewart who has just had an excellent result in his police exams looked good in third spot. Great to see Steve Murphy back.
