Big turnout by LPS at the 3rd Harrock Hill Race

On yet another very warm July evening eleven LPS athletes made the short trip to Lancashire for the third in the four race series of Harrock Hill races.
Ian Roberts was first home from the club in 9th place in the very fast time of 36.48  for this challenging 5 mile course. Ian who recently become the proud father of twins has as you might imagine had a disrupted training program over the last few weeks with sleepless nights but it didn’t seem to show and we look forward to him racing again as family commitments allow. Not that far behind in 15th (38.09) place was Andrew Foster V45 who is having a good season off roads,  in 21st place (38.52) was club stalwart Greg Callaghan who won the V55 for the second time this year at this event.
It was nice to see Richard Weeks back out again and he came home 25th in 39.42, followed by Richard Beesley in 34th place in 40.25. John Dickinson V50 and John Halson V55 had a battle to the line with John Dickinson coming out on top he was 43rd in 41.18 with John Halson 44th on 41.27.
Robbie Wood in 70th (44.16) just missed out on the V60 prize to his old Sefton Harrier running mate Brian Davey of SWAC, another regular at these events is Mark Hudson V55 who came home in 83rd place in 45.07.
Flossie Dickinson U23 gained some good off road experience over this hilly course was next in 128 in 49.16. Ian Doyle V40 ‘fresh’ from his Snowdon mountain race only four days earlier was 150th in 52.38.
