Girls beat the elements to claim victory at Barrow.

There was end of season feeling to the final Mid-lancs fixture held at Barrow–in-Furness on Saturday. With the holiday season having started and the prospect of a 4 hour round trip, many youngsters decided to give this meeting ‘a miss’. For the 33 LPS athletes who did make the journey, they were met by heavy rain and blustery conditions, so much so, that the meeting had to be suspended for a while until the rain went off.
Despite the tricky conditions, the high jump squad excelled as ever, with victories for Kai Finch (1.90m) at senior level, Jamie Hopkins (1.70m) at U17 and Sandy Clarkson (1.70m) at U15 . Niamh Doyle won the U15G event with a grade 1 standard jump of 1.58m.
